Description
Deliciously rich and fudgy banana brownies made with healthy ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 spotty bananas (about 1 cup mashed)
- 1/2 cup almond butter (can sub any other nut or seed butter)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup (may sub coconut sugar, brown sugar or cane sugar)
- 1/3 cup cacao powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 cup oat flour (may sub all-purpose or a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (+ more for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375F and prepare a 9×9 or 8×8 baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, add in the spotty bananas and mash until there are little to no chunks left.
- Next, add in the almond butter, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Whisk until ingredients are well incorporated.
- Add in the oat flour, cacao powder, baking soda and salt. Use a rubber spatula to mix until a thick brownie batter is formed.
- Fold in the chocolate chips last then add batter to prepared dish.
- Spread evenly and top with more chocolate chips if desired.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool completely before slicing into and enjoy! I like to enjoy mine warm with a dollop of cool whip, dairy-free caramel and diced hazelnuts.
Notes
- These brownies are best enjoyed warm.
- Can be topped with a variety of nuts or additional chocolate chips as desired.
