Description

Deliciously rich and fudgy banana brownies made with healthy ingredients.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 spotty bananas (about 1 cup mashed)
  • 1/2 cup almond butter (can sub any other nut or seed butter)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup (may sub coconut sugar, brown sugar or cane sugar)
  • 1/3 cup cacao powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 cup oat flour (may sub all-purpose or a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (+ more for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375F and prepare a 9×9 or 8×8 baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, add in the spotty bananas and mash until there are little to no chunks left.
  3. Next, add in the almond butter, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Whisk until ingredients are well incorporated.
  4. Add in the oat flour, cacao powder, baking soda and salt. Use a rubber spatula to mix until a thick brownie batter is formed.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips last then add batter to prepared dish.
  6. Spread evenly and top with more chocolate chips if desired.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool completely before slicing into and enjoy! I like to enjoy mine warm with a dollop of cool whip, dairy-free caramel and diced hazelnuts.

  • These brownies are best enjoyed warm.
  • Can be topped with a variety of nuts or additional chocolate chips as desired.
