- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (Make sure the butter is at room temperature.)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- to taste Frosting (Feel free to use a simple buttercream or your favorite topping.)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, then beat until fully combined.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula or wooden spoon until just combined.
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan and spread the dough evenly in the pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges start to turn golden brown.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and let the bars cool completely in the pan before adding frosting or toppings.
