Description

A delicious and hearty sandwich perfect for a quick meal or gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Brown the Beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Break it apart with a spoon. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Cook the Vegetables: Add the chopped onion and diced bell pepper to the beef. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are soft.
  3. Add Sauces and Spices: Stir in the barbecue sauce, ketchup, and water. Add Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Simmer: Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally until the sauce thickens.
  5. Prepare the Buns: Toast the hamburger buns lightly if desired.
  6. Assemble the Sandwich: Spoon the meat mixture onto the bottom half of each bun. Top with the other half of the bun.
