Description

A delicious and creamy mashed sweet potato recipe that is perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds sweet potatoes (peeled and cut into large chunks)
  • ⅓ cup milk (more or less, depending on desired texture)
  • 4 Tablespoons butter
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add in the sweet potatoes, reduce the heat to medium, and cook until the potatoes are tender (about 20-30 minutes, depending on how large of pieces you cut them into).
  2. Drain the water and place the potatoes in a large bowl.
  3. Using a potato masher, mash the potatoes until they reach the desired consistency. Slowly pour in the milk and mix in.
  4. Add the remaining ingredients until everything is blended together and the butter is melted.
  5. Serve warm topped with a little bit of cinnamon, brown sugar, and butter (if desired).

Notes

  • Feel free to adjust the amount of milk for creaminess according to your preference.
  • The recipe can easily be scaled up or down based on the number of servings needed.
