This cheesy ground beef casserole is a comforting and delicious dish perfect for family dinners.

- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1/4 cup chopped scallions (or onions)
- 1 (10-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 (10-ounce) can water
- 1 pound frozen diced potatoes (defrosted)
- 8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- (optional) Tabasco sauce (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and brown over medium high heat until no longer pink; approximately 4-5 minutes. Drain any excess oil from the pan; then add the meat to a bowl.
- Next, add the scallions, soup, water, potatoes, half of the cheese, garlic powder, salt and pepper; then mix together.
- Place the mixture in the casserole dish; then top with remaining cheese.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and the casserole is hot and bubbly.
Notes
- This dish can be customized with your favorite vegetables.
- For extra heat, add more Tabasco sauce.
