Description

This cheesy ground beef casserole is a comforting and delicious dish perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/4 cup chopped scallions (or onions)
  • 1 (10-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (10-ounce) can water
  • 1 pound frozen diced potatoes (defrosted)
  • 8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • (optional) Tabasco sauce (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet and brown over medium high heat until no longer pink; approximately 4-5 minutes. Drain any excess oil from the pan; then add the meat to a bowl.
  3. Next, add the scallions, soup, water, potatoes, half of the cheese, garlic powder, salt and pepper; then mix together.
  4. Place the mixture in the casserole dish; then top with remaining cheese.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and the casserole is hot and bubbly.

Notes

  • This dish can be customized with your favorite vegetables.
  • For extra heat, add more Tabasco sauce.
