Description

Delicious stir-fried beef lo mein with fresh vegetables and a savory sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz lo mein noodles or spaghetti
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (plus extra for noodles)
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced (mix of red and green)
  • 1 cup carrots, julienned
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for cooking)
  • 2 tablespoons water (for sauce mix)

Instructions

  1. Boil the noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and toss with a splash of sesame oil to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and water. Set the sauce aside.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
  5. Add carrots, bell peppers, and red onion. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  6. Return cooked beef to the pan, add noodles, and pour in the sauce. Toss everything together until evenly coated and heated through.
  7. Garnish with green onions and serve immediately. Add an optional drizzle of sesame oil for extra flavor.
