Description
Delicious stir-fried beef lo mein with fresh vegetables and a savory sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz lo mein noodles or spaghetti
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil (plus extra for noodles)
- 1 cup bell peppers, sliced (mix of red and green)
- 1 cup carrots, julienned
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for cooking)
- 2 tablespoons water (for sauce mix)
Instructions
- Boil the noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and toss with a splash of sesame oil to prevent sticking. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and water. Set the sauce aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Add carrots, bell peppers, and red onion. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Return cooked beef to the pan, add noodles, and pour in the sauce. Toss everything together until evenly coated and heated through.
- Garnish with green onions and serve immediately. Add an optional drizzle of sesame oil for extra flavor.
