Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Make the Batter: Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar in a large bowl. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture and whisk until smooth. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold the dry ingredients gently into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Bake the Brownies: Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Arrange a layer of sliced strawberries over the batter. Pour the remaining batter over the strawberries, smoothing it out with a spatula. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Prepare the Chocolate Topping: While the brownies are baking, melt the chocolate chips and heavy cream together in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
- Assemble the Bars: Once the brownies are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Spread the melted chocolate mixture evenly over the top of the brownies. Decorate with additional sliced strawberries on top.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the brownies to cool completely and the chocolate topping to set before cutting them into bars.
